Not far from the famous Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof), the Altstadthotel has always been a popular destination for famous travellers and historical celebrities, among them Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who stayed there as a 13-year-old in 1769. The building is narrow and elongated towards the rear, its front-facing arcade blends perfectly with the historical fabric of the city. During the redesign, a loft level was added to the existing six storeys, which have been extended with delicacy and professional finesse, while respecting the conservation rules. The new loft is meticulously choreographed: on the one hand, it remains alive to the neighbourhood and cityscape by retaining its original slope towards the street-facing front elevation, but at the rear it rises in height and opens up through six glass cubes offering wonderful views over the city skyline. From here, guests can enjoy a unique panorama, taking in the Pulverturm, ski jump and Nordkette.

오스트리아 인스브루크 중심가에 새로운 모습으로 탄생한 Weisses Kreuz. 1460년대 만들어진 건물은 역사적 흐름과 광범위한 건축적 요소들로 인해 끊임없는 변형을 겪어왔다. 시대의 뚜렷한 특징은 시간을 초월하여 하나의 건물에 공존하고 있었고, 수세기에 걸쳐 변화된 모습은 noa*에게 매력적이면서도 도전적인 과제로 다가왔다. 모차르트를 비롯한 유명 인사들과 여행자들에게 사랑받는 장소였던 호텔은 도시 전면의 아케이드가 역사적인 건축물과 완벽하게 어우러져 있다. 재설계 과정에서 기존 6개 층에 다락방이 추가되었으며, 옛 건물을 보존하기 위해 섬세하고 전문적인 기교로 증축했다. 정면으로는 도시의 경관을, 경사를 따라 뒤편으로 올라가면 스카이라인과 Nordkette 산맥이 어우러지는 독특한 파노라마를 감상할 수 있다.

고딕 양식의 천장과 아치, 다양한 층고를 가진 객실 등 기존 건축이 가지고 있는 불규칙한 요소에도 불구하고 noa*는 이를 모두 해결하여 투숙객들을 위한 시간 여행을 마련했다. 마을 거리와 면한 객실의 창밖을 통해 인스브루크의 번잡함을 만끽하는 동시에, 안뜰을 마주한 객실에서는 평화롭고 한적한 분위기를 즐길 수 있다. 1층과 6층 사이에 내부 안마당을 만들어 자연광을 끌어들였는데, 이는 창문이 없는 중앙 건물을 위해 스튜디오가 특별히 고안한 방법이다.

The new rooms and suites – or "chambers", as the owners affectionately call them – are located on the floors below. Despite the architectural irregularity of these existing floors, with their gothic ceilings, arches and var ying room heights, noa* has succeeded in bringing some kind of calm to the madness. The guest rooms facing the street allow you to engage in the hustle and bustle of Innsbruck's old town just by looking out of the window, while those facing the inner courtyard delight with an internal patio or balcony creating a secluded idyll.

The rooms themselves have consistent colour codes. Each is immersed in a monochrome colour and becomes the setting for the baroque elements. Colour is part of the journey through time that the guest embarks on. Each hue gives an indication of the configuration of the respective room. When compared to the light blue rooms, the red rooms are slightly more spacious, the dark blue rooms have a balcony, and the green rooms have a terrace overlooking the courtyard, while the grey rooms are all twin-bedded. All the furnishings are in keeping with the colour: from carpet and tiles to wall colour, curtains and furniture.

객실에는 일관된 색상 코드가 존재한다. 강한 빛깔을 띠고 있는 색들은 바로크 양식의 요소와 조화롭게 어우러진다. 컬러는 손님들이 떠나게 되는 시간 여행의 일부로, 각 색조는 객실의 구성을 나타낸다. 푸른색 객실은 붉은색 객실보다 좀 더 널찍하고, 짙은 파란색 객실은 발코니가 존재한다. 녹색 객실은 안뜰이 내려다보이는 테라스가 있고 회색 객실은 모두 트윈 베드로 되어 있으며, 카펫, 타일, 벽, 커튼, 가구 등의 모든 요소는 객실의 컬러와 화려한 조화를 이룬다. 공간을 지배하는 또 다른 요소는 바로크 양식의 가구들이다. 13m 길이의 금관 테이블과 오크 나무 바닥이 분위기를 한껏 더하며, 독특한 안락의자와 화려한 조명은 투숙객의 눈과 귀를 사로잡고 시간 감각을 흐리게 만든다. 사소한 디테일 하나에도 세심하게 컬러가 적용된 디자인은 오래된 건물에 활기찬 분위기를 가져오고, 역동적인 역사를 환기하며 새로운 장으로 이끌고 있다.
